Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 October 2026
For pupils: the short version
- We keep your name, your year group and your answers so we can show how you're doing.
- Only you and your grown-up can see your results. We never show them to anyone else.
- We don't show adverts, and we never sell or share your information for marketing.
- Your grown-up can delete your account and everything in it at any time.
- If you're worried about anything, talk to your grown-up.
1. Who we are
Simply Eleven Plus is run by Jeevan Karthick Thiyagarajan, trading as Simply Eleven Plus ("we"). We are the data controller for the personal information described here. Contact: jeevankt.work@gmail.com.
This policy is written for the parent or guardian who creates the account. Simply Eleven Plus is used by children, so we collect as little as we can and never use their information for advertising.
2. What we collect
- Account details: your email address and password (stored only in scrambled, hashed form, so nobody can read it), your child's name, year group and the exam style they are preparing for.
- Live mock registrations: the email address you register with and, if you choose to give them, your child's first name and year group. You don't need an account to register.
- Learning data: the questions your child answers, whether each answer was right, mock paper scores and times, and when they practised.
- Purchase records: whether you have bought Pro, when, and a reference to your Stripe customer record. Your card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them.
- Agreements and email choices: the date you accepted our terms and which version, and whether you've asked for weekly progress reports or news and offers by email.
- Technical information: a sign-in cookie, and short-term security logs kept by our hosting providers, which include IP addresses. We also count page visits anonymously: we record only which page was viewed and whether someone was signed in, with no cookie, IP address or account attached.
We don't collect your child's date of birth, school, photos, location or contact details.
3. Why we use it
| Purpose | Legal basis (UK GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Registering you for a free live mock and emailing you the joining details | Contract: you asked to take part in the session |
| Running your account, marking answers and showing progress | Contract: it's needed to provide the service you signed up for |
| Selling Pro, giving access and handling refunds | Contract |
| Keeping payment records for tax | Legal obligation |
| Keeping the service secure, preventing misuse and fixing errors in questions (using answer data without names) | Legitimate interests: running a safe, accurate service |
| Understanding how the site is used (anonymous page counts and overall totals) | Legitimate interests: improving the service |
| Sending account emails (confirming your email, password resets, a welcome email, Pro confirmation, live mock details and reminders) | Contract |
| Weekly progress report emails to parents (you can switch these off at any time) | Legitimate interests: helping families follow their child's progress |
| Emails about free live mocks, new features and offers | Consent: only if you tick the box asking for them |
We only send news and offers if you've ticked the box asking for them. Every report or news email has an unsubscribe link, and you can change your email choices at any time on the Account page. Our emails are sent by Resend; we don't track whether you open them or click links.
4. Children's information
- Accounts are created by a parent or guardian, who agrees to these terms on the child's behalf.
- Privacy is set high by default. There are no public profiles, leaderboards, chat or ways for children to contact other people.
- We don't use children's information for advertising or profiling, and we never sell it. Progress information is only used to show the family how the child is doing.
- We don't share information with schools, tutors or exam boards.
5. Who we share it with
We use trusted providers to run Simply Eleven Plus. They only process information on our instructions and must keep it secure:
| Provider | What they do | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Stores accounts and practice progress, and handles signing in. | Ireland (EU) |
| Netlify | Hosts the website. | USA |
| Stripe | Takes payments and sends receipts. Stripe handles all card details. | UK, EU and USA |
| Resend | Sends account emails, such as confirming your email or resetting a password. | USA (EU sending region) |
When information is processed outside the UK, it is protected by UK-approved safeguards, such as the UK–US "data bridge" or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to standard contractual clauses. We may also share information if the law requires it.
6. How long we keep it
- Account and learning data: until you delete the account. If an account isn't used for 3 years, we may delete it after emailing you first.
- Live mock registrations: deleted automatically 12 months after the session, or sooner if you ask us.
- Payment records: 6 years after the purchase, because tax law requires it. These are kept by Stripe and do not include your child's learning data.
- Security logs: kept by our hosting providers for a short time, usually no more than 30 days.
7. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of the personal information we hold, and you can object to or ask us to restrict how we use it. You can change your child's details and delete the account yourself on the Account page. For anything else, email jeevankt.work@gmail.com. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
8. Cookies
We only use cookies that are strictly necessary to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or analytics cookies, so we don't need to ask for cookie consent. When you pay, Stripe's checkout page uses its own cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud.
9. Keeping it safe
All connections to Simply Eleven Plus are encrypted. Each family's data is locked so that only their own account can read it, passwords are stored in hashed form, and payments are handled entirely by Stripe.
10. Changes to this policy
We will update this page if anything changes. If a change is significant, we will email you before it takes effect.
